Decided on Vitara was created by BigT
Hi all after 12 months of looking at used jimnys and vitaras , and reading your exellent forum, finally took the plunge and bought a low mileage 2010 1.6 three door vitara. After six weeks of ownership must say I am very impressed with it, wait to see how good the four wheel drive is when we get some snow.

No low box in those is there? I think the diesel and 2.4 get the low? Should be spot in in the snow with the correct tyres.

We have a lwb diesel 2011, even in low with the standard tyres it wasn't the best but once changed it is a different animal. My Subaru sti was rubbish on the road tyres, I put winters on and it would cope with anything!

Gold Jimny the best colour (sold) :(

Big red Jimny 32" tyres, arbs, cage 5:1 transfer etc. (Sold)

Grey pick up Jimny
Turbo m13a, arbs, floating rear shafts, disc conversion rear, vented front conversion. 245 70 16. Winch, 3" lift, 4:16 trans hd shafts and CVS

No their isn't a low option, just a fixed 4wd, won't be using it off road, its main purpose is a dog taxi, any recommendations for good all year tyres.

I had a set of these Hankook tyres on my '06 Grand Vitara and they were excellent. Unstoppable in snow and decent all year around. They lasted 40'000 miles too.

I've got a 3 door NGV too -

With a 2" lift (of course!) and some Yokohama Geolandar ATs...

I got a 2008 low mileage diesel as it has the -

Centre diff lock and Low Box too...

The petrol 3 door models don't have it in the UK :(

Wouldn't dare take it offroad though... ;)

Also looking forward to some snow this year! :woohoo:

Forgot the tyres...

Standard size so they don't upset the gearing / speedo, etc...

Proper tyres, not remoulds, flies around at maximum permissible road speeds ;) yet still a great pattern for the snow (and mud)
