Volume and pressure are two different things. Yes a bigger tyre holds more air than a smaller one but that just means you have to have more air to achieve the same pressure. The same amount of air in a smaller space will be under more pressure but by releasing some of the air you can regulate the pressure. If that makes sense.

The volume of a tyre is consistent regardless of the volume of air you put into it. What changes is the pressure of the air as you introduce more volume of air into the fixed volume of the tyre.

Except that that doesn't take into account the potential differences in tyre construction which affect the ability to carry weight at different pressures. Hence working it out from the specific information off the side of the tyre.

I think I get this now.

Its like this > (I THINK) If we had two rubber cubes (both rated at 30psi) The first is 1m by 1m. And we also have the other rubber cube 2m by 2m. Whilst the 2 by 2 would require more air (volume), they would both need to be under pressure of 30PSI.??


That melted my brain.
