It's my first post here, as I've just bought a 2003 Jimny, and decided to find an active owners' community. Turns out that in Poland everyone drives a Vitara, but only a few guys drive a Jimny. So, I'm new to Jimny but not to Suzuki 4x4, as I used to drive a slightly lifted X-90 for six years. And it was this car that made me fall in love with 4x4 cabrios
My Jimny is a 2003, 1.3l, cabrio with an aftermarket hardtop. Generally in great condition with original silver paintjob, no signs of rust neither on the frame nor the chassis. It does have some little problems though, but it's nothing serious.
For example, when I bought it and took for a 100km trip back home it turned out it doesn't like motorways and refuses to go over 90km/h (3000rpm) for longer. After a few km on cruising speed the revmeter went wild, and the engine stalled. I was furious, as it was literally my first 20km of driving when the first problems happened. Anyway, I read a bit (including this forum) and narrowed the problem down to camshaft and/or crankshaft sensor malfunction. Replaced them and the problem was gone.
I've also replaced a corroded exhaust pipe and a broken muffler, fixed the handbrake, disconnected the annoying open-door-warning beeper (it was driving me nuts!) and now I'm facing some other minor things. I'll keep you informed and I will ask questions in the technical forum of course.
And one more thing: Jimny is a Santana produced version, and it is a JB33 (according to VIN) but with an M13A non-VVT engine instead of the expected G13BB. Is this factory-possible, or was the engine (and transmission?) swapped?
So generally this is my introduction. Nice to meet you fellow zookers

Hey Wilku!
Sounds like you found a great Jimny!
With the crank angle sensor....was it J999pre who fixed it for you?

Anyway - if you're asking who replaced the sensor - I did it myself - quite an easy job, but I didn't have a wrench of sufficient lenght, so I had to get my hands deep into the engine and left some of my blood on the engine block because of that
If you're asking if I read any info from a guy called J999pre on some forums - then it's more than likely - I've read some info here, on suzuki-forums, and other places.
