Hello,
I own a smallholding of about 10 acres and it's pretty steep in places. I bought an old Kawasaki Mule for lugging stuff around but it was a real heap and spares were really expensive. Wasn't worth spending any more money on so sold it and looked around for a replacement. Was about to buy a brand new UTV but at over £7,000 for a glorified quad (and this one was well specced) it still seemed a lot of money. I'd seen Jimny's at pay-and-play sites before and my mother-in-law had one so I knew they were built like mini-Land Rovers (without the corrosion problems... ). Started hunting around and eventually bought this:
It's in pretty good nick, with new tyres, a decent Superwinch and a Rhino Ray bumper. Has the M13A engine. Rear exhaust box mount has snapped off so that rattles a bit, although not blowing from what I can tell. Brake pads need doing and the aerial is snapped off but it drives really well and as far as I can tell, all the electrics work (try that on an old Landie!). Cost significantly less than a second hand Mule and I won't get cold and wet in winter!
Had great fun ragging it round the fields already but have ordered a Tow Trust bar so I can tow a trailer with it and really get some use out of it. My 5 year old daughter was steering it around before school

Looks good! "Without the corrosion problems" isn't quite accurate though as I'm sure you'll find out

Thanks! Already broke the winch controller by driving over it (cut and resoldered the wires and it works again now, which would have been really helpful when I bottomed out trying to drive over a big pile of wood chip )
It has a second immobiliser which has been bypassed and I've spent the morning fixing the aerial by shoving a piece of wire in the hole and I've wrapped some strong wire round the exhaust to stop it rattling.
I'm sure it will have some corrosion issues but no galvanic corrosion like the Defender and no rear crossmember to catch wet mud.

Welcome to the gang
Nice vehicle you got there, ideal for a 10 acre smallholding, so when we all coming round to drive about
See your mechanical skills are all good

Was offered one but it was more than I wanted to spend and quite like being able to take passengers. With the hitch it will be able to pull one of our trailers which is nearly as good as a pickup
