G'day, ok i know i'm going to offend some people but it has to be said, when my dad brought this car home i could not stop laughing, i just didn't get it! the thing is tiny and has a little 1.3 litre engine i just could not take the car seriously.

So this went on for a while dad drove it and loved it and i put it down all the time, he put about 100k on it and finally decided to sell his beloved jimny, He was going to buy a subaru xvs i think its called so anyway he comes over to show me his new car and shows up with a 2013 jimny haha i couldn't believe it.

So he was planning to trade his old jimny in but the car dealership only offered him 3k so i said ill sell it for him, so i cleaned it up and drove it around for a week and then decided to take it off road.

I fell in love!!! the thing is an animal it was going everywhere my mates cars would go, took it on the beach and the thing just floats, its so light! so straight away rang dad and said ill buy it haha he was pretty happy, i pop over his house once a week and we just talk jimny talk now haha.

Anyway all i've done so far is tinted the window's they are 5% pretty dark and i scored a set of brand new khumo mt on sunnys for 400 on e bay great buy haha and fitted a hi low converter to the original head deck to i can run a sub and an amp.

Planning on just a 2 inch suspension lift at the moment nothing to crazy just yet as its my daily driver.

Welcome to the World of Jimny maaate ;) They are surprisingly capable vehicles and fun to mod. Silver is the best colour too. I've had my Spanish version of the Jimny for 13 years now, changed its' looks a little over the years. It accompanies my bulldozers and other earthmoving equipment wherever I go.

Thats understandable as Aussie is dominated by landcruisers and other large engine trucks, I definitley need to get tints that dark it looks great!

How do you find the Kumhos?

Welcome to the forum

I had a similar situation when getting mine, my parents had one and dad used to use it shooting, when I decided I wanted a 4wheel drive they mentioned a jimny and I laughed. I had a look about, found how many parts were available for them and after realising how capable they are I went out and bought one. :)

It is so cheap to run aswell, in comparison to the equivalent landy or similar. And easy to work on.

Thanks everone, very friendly site you have here you know how to make a guy feel welcome haha :)
Thats pretty rare these days, i started modifying cars a few years before the internet came along and it was tough! i would of been 17/18 and if something went wrong you would have to take it to a shop and hope you don't get taken for a ride.

And then along came the internet and fourm's what a game changer, the amount of money i have saved over the years and what i have learned is amazing, cant thank people enough for write ups, comments on topics ect ect, so keep the good work up this is a great forum :)

As for the kumho's i love them, done nearly 30k on them and have worn well no chunks ripped out and ive had them on every terrain, ive pushed the car hard in the wet and it just grips, they are pretty quiet and they are pretty cheap, in Australia they go for 150 a tyre.
Only problem with them is they only rotate one way, but for the price i cant complain.
