Yes tommy guns I'm going to get my wheels sprayed black! Will look nice and stealth all in black!
Thanks Kirkynut your truck looks awsome!! I really want a lift kit which hopefully I can purchase this week! I already have the wheels I want and paid only £67 quid for them lol bargain! I hadn't thought of a roll cage as I actually don't do a lot of proper off-roading! I do a lot of shooting and it helps to have a motor that can get across the fields and also look good in the process!

Yeah, you don't need a roll cage.

When you say go across fields do you mean the track the farmer creates around it or across a ploughed field when allowed by the farmer?

My neighbour shoots like you and has an old shape LWB diesel Vitara with my old Kumho KL71's on in 205/80/16 size with no lift at all. He gets around alright and has only had to go red faced to the farmer for a pull with the tractor a couple of times! I often wonder if I'll ever get a call!

The only thing is with the width of those wheels is that you are likely to need a fair old lift to stop them catching - I'm thinking like the ORA 4" lift kit: www.offroad-armory.com/store/index.php?r...20_69&product_id=192 which is not cheap for a bit of Bunny bashing!

I'd get a good set of tyres too - depending on what you are doing depends on the size and tread required.

Then definitely get a winch and a winch bumper and roof bars for some big lamps!

You could also get a ground anchor for you to have something to winch off of if you get stuck in a field with no trees around! www.flatdoguk.com/emergency-ground-anchor~750 which can pop in the boot nicely! Just don't forget the FBH to bang them in with.

The only thing with putting stuff on the roof is you then can't shoot from it.

My neighbour has a step bolted to his tow bar on his Vitara and then rests his gun on a bean bag on the roof whilst stood on the step. I've had a go and it works well as far as I can see. Ruins the departure angle but I don't suppose you care much about that!

If you put a step on the tow bar you could run a 12V supply to the back to run a lamp off for lamping!

Crikey I'm getting all excited and it's not even my project!

Well, yes we use the farmers tracks and we also have to go on the ploughed areas, but depends what time of the year it is. I have been looking at that kit but I just thought it was overkill for what I would use her for! I been looking at some spot lights for the roof and was going to see what others on here have used and created for the roof bar?
The step for the towbar sounds really interesting, all the areas we can shoot from enables us to shoot from the comfort of the front seats, which is a lot warmer than standing out the back in the winter months! Lol yes a winch bumber is on my wish list, as my dad and myself do a lot of chainsawing/logging for the farmer too! So it will help to pull logs out of ditches and things like that, and also if one of us gets stuck. My dad has a sj410, that is in really good condition and completely standard. Well some all terrain tyres on it that's all!
I'm going to get my rear windows tinted aswell so it gives some privacy to what's in the back of my truck lol plus look good!

Yeah sounds like it's your project lol

The rear tints sound like a good idea, otherwise popping into the shop on the way out shooting leaving guns on the back seat gets dodgy!

I think you need a fair lift or your tyres will start catching on the wings and inner arches.

I've not thought about what mods I'd do if I did another Jimny, honest!

Yes Defo dodgy episcally if the police roll by lol
well I think I might keep my new wheels for everyday driving and then I could use my standard rims with off road tyres on them for when the winter rolls in! So I can get the best off both worlds as I really like the wide wheels on her look the bollocks! I am Defo going to paint the wheels black and I'm going to purchase some blue wheel nuts so have a theme of blue and black through out her as my interior is blue also!

Cheers - it's an ORA heavy duty rear bumper - they are very good quality, they clearly spent time making it look right and for it to be possible for it to be produced in reasonable numbers.

The only issue I have found is that the powder coating comes off after only a few years.
