whilst the new jimny is being fettled and modified, I found this little gem my husband knocked up when I had my first jimny.
Shows some of the antics we got up to offroad.

hehe thanks.
Only Mods to that were 2" lift, 195xr15 80:20 MT's and 30mm spacers all round.
The G wagon, stuck in the river was running silly ARB Lockers. At tyres and was able to lock his front, middle and rear diffs.
This was a brand new car, no snorkle (spoils the look IMHO) with less than 10,000 miles on the clock when we did most of this.
Whats the point in having an offroad if all you do is drive to Tesco's ?
Get out, get muddy and try not to get stuck !!... the video this was taken off is 600MB and is bacially realtime on the ridgeway, salisbury plain, BUlford ranges and Tidworth Tank courses.

I'm impressed with how deep you are prepared to wade without a snorkle.
Looks like you have the same A-bar on there as I have, and I'm sure it was you who mentioned fabricating some brackets for them. I assume you were talking about the top mounts that are just flimsy little straps running back to the body. Apologies if it wasn't you, but if it was do you have any photos of what you had done.

Thanks for those comments.. It was a gamble to be honest, we only found out where the air intake was AFTER the river crossings !!!!
We never had any issues and the only water we had was a small (1CM) pool in the bottom of the airbox around the drain hole.
The A-Bar in the Vid was a Cobra Bar, and this was great. it had 2x 1/4 stainless braces that attached at the top.
We have a DeeJay bar on the new Jimny and its only mounted at the bottom. So we need to fabricate a brace at the top.
