And then when you are tired of spending every rest day fixing the discovery and the family aren't interested in off road adventure anymore you will be back.

The shell is very rotten and the chassis is cracked.
I'll pop in here and keep an eye on Lambert every now and then I'm sure!

This seems a bit incredible. Am I confused.  One minute you are slaving away on the motor and then it becomes a rot box.
A later Disco appeals to me but I found the Pajero a very hard act to follow, in fact impossible to replace.  Interestingly you do not seem to hanker after the latest Jimny.

I wish I'd checked the condition of it before buying the last lot of tyres and the brake parts John.

It was a rot box I'm afraid.

Still, it lives on, albeit on a Land Rover Discovery chassis:

Best of both worlds, land rover mechanical reliability coupled with Japanese corrosion resistance. Oh hang on, not Best. The other thing.

As a matter of fact that sounds like a good plan.   Back in the day I wanted to put my SJ in to a kit car.  There was a kit made for the SJs but I forget the name just now. It was called something that make me think of a rocket.    It was fairly costly so I  never got around to doing it and TBH I regret it. It would still have been a Suzuki though and I have to say apart from the fact the SJ was not automatic it was THE Suzuki and nothing Suzuki has made since has lived up to its appeal though the old Vitara was close.

There was a half finished one on eBay the other day
I'm surprised no one has made something similar for the Jimny, with the amount that rot it's the ideal solution.
Blitz still show it on their website, just says it's no longer available.

Sorry to hijack the thread, i have a blitz sj thats just having a new chassis fitted- i reckon the body wouldn't be far off fitting a jimny chassis wth a few mods - the thought had crossed my mind..... unless anyone else fancies the project as i'd sell the blitz body bits on their own....

I had my SJ for well over 20 years and the chassis was great but the body had gone around the wheel arches and it had about three sets of bumpers which made it a Blitz candidate.

Looks like more progress has been made in putting my old shell on the Disco chassis!

I've popped back with a message in another thread about the future of Green laning so I may as well update this thread too.

The chap putting my old shell on a Land Rover chassis gave up on it and made a tubular buggy instead.

I bought a Discovery 2 TD5 on Wednesday.

It's only for laning.

I hope you're all well.
