Not 100% sure on this one but!.....

Some uprated shockers (es3000's and es9000's) have bump stops built in. Not sure about other brands but this is what I have read. Also if you look on Zanfi.it web site they sell extended bump stops but their not cheap! Look like a good piece of kit tho!:) I haven't seen any of the extended bump stops for sale in the UK.

I'm new to Suzuki's so someone on here will probably no more than me!!!

Extended bump stops can increase articulation believe it or not. When one end of the axle drops down the other goes up. If the bump stop "stops" it from going up then the "down" end can go further down.

Therefore you should really look at extending the bump stops when lifting. I bought an SJ kit a few years back and the bump stop extenders were simply a piece of box sectio with holes drilled in. One hole to bolt onto the original mount point and another hole to bolt the stop onto - simples!

I have a KAP 3" lift on mine with Pro-Comp shocks but no extended bump stops I think. Not having standard one to compare to but they look standard to me.

I have no issues whatsoever. It flexes well and I don't think it get's coil bound.

So in answer to your question - no you don;t need them.

I do not think the Pro-Comp shockers have built in bump stops - you don't want to fully close your shock and use it as a bump stop as it will break! It's just a tin tube!

I have had Martin's theory or extended bump stops allowing the opposite side to droop more as the axle has something to lever gainst put to me before - but the person stood next to the person who said it then came up with the valid argument that it also lifts the vehicle on the side that is compressed - rather than allow the wheel to go up further into the arch - giving more chance of a roll!

So there are 2 schools of thought - I don't think there is a right or wrong - I think it comes down to personal choice.

My choice is to not extend them as I am happy with the performance of my suspension and my arse that does the 5 pence 50 pence thing on side slopes as it is!
