Tyre size question

I recently bought a 2010 Jimny which is still on the original tyres.
Needless to say, they’re well past their best and will need changing before it’s next MOT.

I’m very close to pulling the trigger on a new wheels and tyres package but before I do I want to check that they’ll actually fit.

The tyres I’m looking at are 215/70r16 BF Goodrich K03’s.
I’ve read that they should fit fine but I’ve also heard some people say they’ll rub.

Can someone with more experience than me let me know your thoughts please?

First off you will need a 0et rim to try and maintain the scrub radius and avoid inherent death wobble. Second the 2010 face-lift is the worst of them for front bumper clearance so while a 707mm diameter should fit easily enough it might need a little bit of trimming. It's also worth noting that the bfg offerings are usually about on the mathematical size for a given tyre, not smaller like most other name brands or way bigger like remoulded ones.

Thank you for your help!

The new wheels do indeed have an ET0 offset so that’s good news.

Is it likely a tyre with less aggressive tread would be more likely to fit without trimming?
I understand that technically it shouldn’t but in the real world.

To a point yes because knobby tyres tend to be a lot squarer on the shoulders where the tread meets the sidewall which has the effect of making the tyre seem bigger when steering and or articulation are moving in unison. A more rounded shoulder tyre helps with this. That said it's only going to be plastic that is in the way for the most part.
