I have searched and searched and i cant find a definitive answer to this.
I have a samurai diff with a locker i want to use in the front of my jimny.
I understand the stock jimny diff is high pinnion design which gives clearence for the tie rod. This is not an issue for me as my tie rod is relocated to the front of the axle.
Does anyone know or has anyone tried to put a samurai diff into a jimny front axle ? Does it phyically fit ? I know the ring gear is possibly bigger ? 6.5 vs 7 according to some scources. I also know the centers are 2 pin vs 4 pin and that they cant be swapped witout machine work.
Ive read old treads of people like Rob Storr modifying samurai lockers and diffs to fit jimny front axles but no real details of what was done.
If anyone chould shed a bit of light on this topic ide be very grateful.
