1999 jb33w AC controller question was created by hranmuthu@gmail.com
Dear all,
I'm trying to locate where my ac controller is. Previous owner has done a modification, now the compressor clutch is powered by a relay controlled by the coolant fan power line. It works without much of a problem. But I have two problems with this setup.
1. AC does not cut off when there is sufficient cool (in the city traffic this is a blessing).
2. If the engine heats up and if ECU decides to run the fan, AC will run even the switch is off. (This also never happens in my jimny as the thermostat is removed by the previous owner)
I wanted to see if there is a problem with AC controller, but I couldn't find where it is. I see the ECU, 4wd controller, Central locking unit, (no at controller as this is a manual), but no AC controller. Anyone has a clue where to locate it?
Thank you
Harshana

Thanks fordem for the reply. Mine is right hand drive. But no AC controller behind the glove box. Have only the ECU near the left side of the glove box. I can't even see a connector for the AC controller. I can see the two thermistor wires coming out from the evaporator and goes into the wire harness. But it's hard to trace that as I didn't want to disturb the original harness.
Thank you
