Jerking/judder when accelerating over bumps was created by Jimbob
Hi everyone.
im getting juddering under acceleration, Mainly just after going over a speed bump. Think it sometimes does it if the road is particularly bumpy.
feels like it’s maybe due to engine mounts or gearbox mounts but nothing seems obviously worn or slack under there.
any idea what might cause this?

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Check the rear axle & damper mounts including the panhard rod, and the trailing arm rubbers .
The rear gearbox mount is usually gone- the tail of the gearbox will lift up if it is, but doesn't normally show when driving at all.

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
ill have another look today when I get time.
i know the rear shock bushes were a advisory on mot last time but I recall looking at them afterwards and not understanding why.
i have also noticed it judders a bit if driving a bit aggressively ( for a jimny?) changing gear and flooring it straight away makes it judder too.
also noticed yesterday first time. Reversing up a hill after being left over night, as you let up the clutch, bit of a clunk from the rear.
bit like when you can feel brakes free up after a car is sat for a few days.
could be brakes or point more towards something at the rear like you suggest.

You may want to check the joints in the driveshaft also.
