Hi,
I need information regarding the transfer boxes of Jimny and SJ. On Calmini website you can see kit 4.16 for transfer box of SJ. Will this kit fit in Jimny box. Mine is 1.3 1999 year. Do you know other kits specialy made for Jimny.
Regards,
Ivo

First of all, you are looking in the area of the best modification you can do to a Jimny, the standard Transfer Boxes are rubbish!
The Jimny Transfer Boxes are completely different to SJ ones so there is no simple upgrade or swap possible.
SJ Transfer boxes can be made to fit using either an off the shelf mounting kit from the likes of Offroad Armory, Rockwatt, RS Engineering or Rhinoray. If you can fabricate metal you can also make them yourself.
Once you have sorted out a mounting kit you can then fit an SJ box. This opens up your choice from a homebuilt 4.16 Rocklobster through to very expensve 5:1, 6:1 and even 8:1 conversions
This whole venture is not cheap, but is very worthwhile.
I have avoided mentioning special Low Ratio Jimny Gearsets*** which are replacement gearsets specifically for Jimny Transfer boxes. This is because I personally did not like this modification, other opinions may be different.
