IPF 968 H3 halogen lights

I think the issue is that an LED is always going to be a larger light source than the filament of a halogen bulb and therefore reflector optics designed for an almost-point light source can't give as tight a beam.  It might look ok to the driver, especially if it's brighter, but there will be some stray light to dazzle oncoming drivers.

For off-road use, it's not an issue.

Our "MOT" inspections aren't that thorough, it'll be impossible for them to know if additional lights are halogen or LED ex-factory, unless they waste their time on the web whilst on the test itself. 

And as my JB74 has original LEDs it's kind of natural to assume I've bought a set of LED equipped lights.

The rule of thumb for us is it's admissible to have 4 high beams and 2 low beams + 2 fogs.

So, my IPF's relay is wired to the high beam's brown cable as per my humble sketch (maybe it'll save someone some time...)

I should,'t be running the fogs with high beams + IPFs, but it's a great way to drive on my farm at night. 

     

 

You would get away with it here as well since they are additional lights and the MOT tester wouldn’t switch them on during the test as they only have to test the statutory lights. Even better, leave the covers on for the test.

Finally you could claim they are for off road use only and that is perfectly legal here.
