There is no locked diff on the rear (or front) axle so you're probably fine, I'm assuming once you chucked it in 4wd it sailed off no probs?

A Jimny only has open differentials so if one wheel is without traction it will spin that wheel. It sounds like you have an issue with either the front vacuum hub pipes (more likely) or that the wiring to the transfer box is broken (not as likely but common enough). Once you get it unstuck you can see what has gone wrong. There's a comprehensive guide in the information section in the top banner.
