I just undid mine and it just sort of fell out of the bottom of the engine bay. Didn't take anything else off.

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

I was just going by what previous posters have said eg the top bolt is awkward and done by feel and you have to wriggle it out but what about the wires?
What size are the bolts?
At this stage I've not even had a look yet are both bolts removed towards the rear of the car or the front??
Any hints/tips would be appreciated.
Mechanically removing a starter is simple I was a bit worried about the tales of taking hours to remove it?
Not to mention the skinned knuckles lol

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

I can't remember the exact bolt size 12 or 14 probably, as it was a while ago but I remember it was one of the easier bits to replace, not like the thermostat which is a pig if you don't take the inlet off.

depends on if you have a lift and good access from the bottom I think, and what tools too.
For me without a lift I think I spent less time removing the inlet so I had good access instead of fiddling with the starter bolts and connections longer than I would without removing the inlet manifold.

But with a lift and an air ratchet you should get it done faster than me.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

Good point, I forget how well equipped I am sometimes. Still wanting a 2 post lift though. And a big enough shed for it to be undercover. There's always another tool to buy!

Well I've got ramps and I do have air and electric power tools. Is that the problem ?? eg no room to use a ratchet/spanner.
My immediate problem is the car is in daily use so I'll need a few hours clear if taking the manifold off.
If I can get the starter out fairly easily a spare hour or two should be enough but I didn't want to disable the car for any length of time.

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

It can be done without removing anything else. Access is tricky. Supporting the car by the chassis and letting the axle hang down helps a great deal with access to the trickier bolts.
