Can't start moving from 1st gear in 4L was created by femto

Hi!

I got Jimny 2021 manual < 1000km. I can't start moving using 1st gear when in 4L. I hear grinding noise and the reduction gear stick jumps back from 4L to 4H by itself! The only way to move when in 4L is to use 2nd gear.

What's happening?

lt does sound like you have a fault with the transmission, most likely an adjustment needed. Take it straight back to the dealer who supplied it before your transmission is damaged.

Note that the Jimny has no centre differential so you can't use 4H or 4L on tarmac, only on low grip surfaces.

When you go from 4 High to 4 Low, are you pushing the stick down to the floor as well as pushing it backwards? You have to be quite firm with it, the odd time I thought I had engaged properly and it grinds like mad.
