having an issue with power with my 2014 jimny

had a coil replaced previously. and also changed the head gasket, but it sounds like its on one cylinder still, there was a hole in the ht lead I changed out with this coil

going to now have a play with the other coil

its also making a bit of a noise when it needs to change up

Has it turned on the EML or given a code for a miss fire? The coils are easy enough to swap but should also be good for tens of thousands of miles.

I would start with the coils, take them off, clean with a contact/electrical cleaner (Halfords £5), then examine for any cracks. Although as Lambert says they are good for 1,000s miles if they get a crack it can cause this.

Whilst you are there remove the plugs, the colour of each plug will give further insight, especially if you have a crack in the head gasket.

Is the battery fully charged?
Is the air filter or exhaust clogged?

From what you said about changing up is it top end power and is it an auto?

After that, more symptoms would help, especially if you have any fault codes.

If the coil that was replaced is not SGP, don't be too surprised if it's failing - I've had aftermarket coils fail literally within a few miles of fitting - if you can't get the SGP, make sure to get a quality part.
