right, with the impending snow whats the crack with the freewheeling hubs, surely you dont want to be jumping in and out of your motor to lock the wheels?
Do people just tend to leave them locked if its looking bad?

Yep - leave them locked and slip the t-box from 4WD to 2WD as appropriate.

My old SJ 410 spent 90k miles with fixed front hubs with no ill effects. Freewheeling hubs just take a bit of wear out of the front diff bearings and oil seal. I ran my Jimny with fixed hubs until I sold the SJ and pinched the Freewheeling hubs off that!

your mpg will fall a bit too because of the extra friction of the diff and drive shafts

nice one, i still haven't got the freewheeling hubs yet, I keep getting out bid on the last second lol.
MPG isn't the best anyway so not too fussed about that, got the grandad mobile for mpg
