Would anyone know or like to guess if I can use an UK miles dashboard cluster in my metric Jimny?
What I need is the print board and electronics inside it to help shut off my brake warning light.
It seems that 90kmh is straight up on the speedo on both, but i am worried about the miles or km trip counter for the mileage.
But could the mileage be stored in the ECU?

I aren't certain but i seem to recall that the odometer readout is just an lcd fed by the ecu not a separate counter on it's own.

I have another ECU so i could just hook it up and see if the milage change i guess.
Got this ebay instrument to program key immobilizer chips that supposedly can correct the milage too so if it is in the cluster, i can probably fix it.
Will most likely not pass MOT with the light shining all the time or not working.
And i will most likely not pass the MOT if the milage seems to be tampered with.

I have heard or read that too, but also that the odometer is stored in a prom in the cluster. so not sure.Lambert wrote: I aren't certain but i seem to recall that the odometer readout is just an lcd fed by the ecu not a separate counter on it's own.

The wiring for left hand drive and right hand drive are the same. The pulse from the vehicle speed sensor/ABS unit will probably be the same regardless of KM or miles, left or right hand drive.
The difference will be in the speedometer its self. Fitting a speedo measuring mph or fitting one of those KM/MPH chips off ebay should do the trick.
