Jimny shake was created by Jackstar
This is my friends Jimny, it’s all standard with good road tyres. I’ve jacked it up front and rear and there’s no play in any joints/bearings, by the way it shakes there should be an axle hanging off :woohoo: . It shakes from 30-50mph then it’s ok. Does anyone have any ideas?

Death wobble perhaps combined with rear engine mount (actually on the gearbox) failed.

Do not be deceived by lack of play, this is perfectly normal for there to be no clear failure.

I would start with Kingpin bearings, wheel bearings, radius arms bushes (chassis end) or bent arms.

Dirt in wheels if he has been offroading and definitely the rear mount. Easy to check. Just get under and lift the rear of the box to see if the rubber has delaminated. Two bolts to change. But also important as Martin says is to strip and check the king pin bearings.

Also check to see if a wheel has lost a balance weight or they are not torqued correctly. 66lb/ft or 90nM

He’s had a gearbox Mount a few weeks ago, I’ve checked the wheel nuts and the king pins are fine.

It’s the worst shake I’ve seen, it shakes everything, I’ve told him to get a garage to put it on the ramp to have alook.

The transfer box mountings can corrode so check them too!
