Front Wheel Bearing - Newbie was created by 4x4dreckly
Hi Forum, my first post so go gentle!!!
Starting to look through all the threads I can find with regard to changing the front wheel bearing, however given you need the special tool here goes!
Real dumb question time, would it not be simpler to change the entire hub (inc. bearing) given I've got to purchase the special tool to remove the bearing? I'll look on the online shop here, however before I registered yesterday on ebay you can get 2 hubs for the far east for £70 inc. both bearings? Quality wise I'm unsure!!
Related to the left side front bearing letting go, there is also a clicking noise coming from the front right wheel when at low speed turning on full lock. Any ideas?
So whilst I might not need the special tool if I replace the entire hubs, given the above clicking could I potentially need it anyway??
Would the forum assist by pointing me to any relevant threads
Look forward to contributing, thanks in advance.

I had a clicking noise reversing thought it may have been the cv joint, it turned out to be a lower bottom king pin bearing which had gone.

I could not see the hubs you were referring to on ebay.
Just a couple of points to consider:
1. In other markets, the older Suzuki 4x4s (such as the Samurai, SJ and LJ models) were also called "Jimny" so check any parts you buy are for the Jimny model that we know in the UK.
2. There is a warning out about fake "Maruti Suzuki" parts. Maruti build a lot of Suzukis both under their own name and for Suzuki in India (Indeed the new Jimny is going to be made in India). However cheap "Maruti Suzuli" parts, which in theory should be fine, have turned out to be fakes.

Ah right, they are not what you are looking for. They are manual free wheel hubs. The wheel bearing is further inboard than where those go. Changing the wheel bearing needs the tool to avoid damaging the expensive hub nut.
