Yep, the B tube is sliding freely across the thread now. Turning left makes the tube push onto the A nut and it works, turning right lets the B tube slide freely without pulling the rest of the Panhard with it. It could be welded, but I don't know how much it would last.
I'm not sure about the origin of the current adjustable Panhard (the one installed on the car), as it doesn't look too sturdy. The ones I've seen online look much heavier ( 6 mm tube for the blue one made by FTS , solid bar for Tough Dog ).
After reading a bit, it seems that a solid bar would be better than an adjustable one, as the adjustment takes up most of the effort and fails eventually. Some say it's better to use the stock bar and a bracket to reposition it (like Zanfi does ), some say an over-engineered adjustable bar would last just fine.
I'm waiting for an answer from a Tough Dog dealer here to see - not many choices unfortunately.

Ok, after a few phone calls and lots of reading, it seems:
- the Tough Dog Panhards are available in LHD and RHD variants; the RHD is straight, while the LHD has a bend for clearance. Good to know. Unfortunately, the local dealer doesn't have them in stock, I'm waiting shipping date confirmation tomorrow. If they have to be shipped from Australia ... no thanks. It's 165 EUR for one front adjustable Panhard. Offroad Armory sells a set at 235 GBP, but they seem to be the straight ones and probably won't fit a LHD.
- the Zanfi bar above looks interesting (it's the only one with the adjustment screw on one side and not in the middle), but it's the most expensive. I've inquired about the bracket they're showing in the pictures; as the adjustment seems to be one-way-only, the bracket might be required. No answer from them yet.
- the Panhards sold at Jimny Bits work for both LHD/RHD cars, they're the cheapest at ~200 GBP. However, I couldn't find any opinions about them. They're made by FTS, a Taiwan company.
