Broken coolant pipe connection on throttle housing
Hi,
I have a O3 plate Jimny soft top. The heater hasn't been working for some time and, having researched a few other threads, I was all prepared today to replace the thermostat and to flush the cooling system through to remove any potential air blocks. Having taken the car for a run this morning it was apparent that the radiator was still cold and there was no pressure in the system at all. I assumed that replacing the thermostat would cure the problem, however not the case, despite the original being in very poor condition and bent! Having scratched my head for a while I came to the conclusion that the waterpump must be knackered and wasn't really looking forward to the prospect of changing myself. As a desperate last measure and hoping that an airlock could be the culprit, I started manually filling the radiator with the engine running. Several jugs of water later I noticed a puddle of water under the car and traced the source if the leak to a broken pipe connection on the base of the throttle housing next to what I assume is the throttle position sensor?? The pipe connector has broken off at the base so there is no hope of reconnecting the pipe unless I can find another section of similar pipe to fit snugly in the original housing recess. Has any one had a similar problem or able to offer a quick fix solution. Failing that can anyone suggest a cheap provider of throttle housings or associated parts...??
Any help would be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Lee
