I believe its the renualt 1.5 engine but dont hold me to that?

Many engines can 'fit' but it depends how good of a fabricator or how much your willing to spend to make it fit,

A couple recently posted on here is a izuzu 1.7td conversion also a peson had out the rover 3.9 v8 in

In France, we have diesel jimny.
2 engine are fitted on:
the 1.5 Renault (Clio 1.5 DCI)
the 1.5 Peugeot
Each engine have a torque approx of 200 Nm.

i delivered to some one the other day that had a brand spaking new jimny on the drive got talking to him and it turns out he got it last week from his local dealer and it diesel and yes its a renault lump 1.5
