The reason i baught a K&N rather than 'increased performance'

i thought with off roading paper filters will soon get cloged with dust and mud etc so i can quickly whip out the cotton filter give it a quick clean and its good as new again rather than playing £9 a go for paper ones, over time i see it as a cost saving

also sounds lovely in my ear as it adds to my snorkel roar!

I don't like K &N Filters, let too many particulates through. Alternatives are: use the proper quality paper filter and add a "snorkel sock" to the snorkel or do as I have done and add a pre-filter to the snorkel. Pre-filter also adds a satisfying sound to the snorkel because of its' vortex/swirl action as it precipitates the dust, bugs etc out into the catch chamber.
