It's better than standard Jimny battery. But for winching a red top with lots of CCAs is way better.

yep that one fits the standard tray, the yellow top is a deep cycle battery and is ideal for using with a winch as it recovers quicker
redtops may have higher CCAs but there isn't one to fit a standard battery tray
the yellow top is used by a lot of top winch trial competitors so can't be that bad.
for serious winching you will be better with a second much larger battery mounted elsewhere
we have a red top on our cherokee and after a few frosty starts and short trips the starter turns noticably slower until its had a good run

Yellow tops have a longer duty cycle which is better for winching, red tops have higher cranking amps for starting big engines etc in very short bursts... not long winching.
Personally we stopped using Optima batteries about 5 years ago after they all started dying randomly not long after they were new...
Odyssey batteries are designed for an 8-12 year duty life which is just mad+very awesome.... you wont get that out of an Optima!
PC1200 vs Optima Yellow Jap fitment.
PC1200
Power Figures
PHCA 5 second 1200 amps
CCA (0°C) 550 amps
HCA (26.6°C) 860 amps
MCA (0°C) 725 amps
Capacity (20 hour) 44 ah
Reserve Minutes 78 mins
Optima
Voltage:12 Volts
Capacity: 38 Ah
CCA: 460 A

As I wrote in a thread some weeks ago. A danish 4x4 company tested 2 Yellow Tops against 2 Red Tops on a similar setup. Perhaps against common beleifs, but the red tops performed best/fastest. But of course, the yellow top would also be an excellent choice
I went for a cheaper battery, Exide EK800 AGM - 80Ah 800 CCA. A bit bigger in size than a red top, but only half the price.
Rob
The CCA for the PC1200, isn't it at -20c and only MCA at 0c ?
