How big a tyre can fit onto a 3 " suspension lift was created by bento
Hi guys..i would like to seek some advice on the max size of my tyres on a 3" lift. Im on a 15" rim currently. As the laws does not allow the tyres to be protruding out of the vehicle body too.
Thanks

Maximum with a little bit of trimming, 235/75/15. With this size you idealy then need to consider reduction gears with a rocklobster, also this will be hard on the clutch without.

Have you measured them though, are they really 31"? Add some agressive tread pattern and it might be a different story!

Gearing seems ok on the road with 31's (if not in a rush)but would be hard work on the engine if I had more aggressive tyres. Long term I'm looking at a rocklobster.

Only if they're remoulds.
31's are 31's. No matter pattern.

Oh no they're not! Simexes are a new tyre, not a remould and they are huge compared to what it says on the side walls - hence the AWDC brought in a measuring stick that tyres had to fit within when they brought in a limit and some new tyres that should have fitted didn't or only just did when they should have done easily.
Also, the carcus may be about right but add a 20mm tread compared to an 8mm tread and it's overall diameter will be bigger.
My Kumho KL 71's were smaller than they ought to have been too.
So no they ain't!
