I had a similar problem with my vauxhall corsa
that was my crankshaft sensor, when the cars cold again does it start? that was one of the signs with mine, only died on me at operating temperature.
i'm not sure, just my penny,
more mechanicaly informed people will be along soon no doubt!

I had a similar problem with my jimny I could do 70 for about 10 to 15 mins then it would shudder which was the engine going on and off quickly then it just died. that was at 22k. i could do 50 without a problem. Had to leave it for a little while to cool then all was good again. That was my crankshaft sensor, £67 from the stealer. Which totally solved the problem and I'm now on about 67k. Although I have noticed that my engine management flashes at seemingly random times.
