205/75 tyres on 8J rims? was created by v8dougie
Anyone able to offer some experience?
I am looking at getting some 15x8J alloys and would like to know if my 205/75 r15 Bridgestone Duellers which are on standard Jimny steel rims would fit okay?
I have searched on here and some say they will, but looking at the website here it seems to show they will not, any help?
Cheers
Phil

That isnt a very good guide as it relates to car tyres not 4x4's
But i would think those tyres are to narrow for those rims

i have 205/75/ tyres on a set of 8j wheels, they went on without too many problems, the guys at the garage had to pull the tyre to meet the bead but once the pressure within the tyre built up they inflated without any problems, i was a bit woried about them looking stretched but they dont. they look good
not saying that your tyre will be the same though.
i tried posting a pic but it didnt like it

Even if a narrow tire stretches onto a too wide wheel, that doesn't mean it really is a recommended setup.
If you're driving on road you most likely don't have any problems, but when offroading with low tire pressures, a too wide wheel will increase the chance of a tire popping off wheel bead. But probably even that is not much of an issue with such small tires.

Thanks for the replies guys, the pic would be good though, will PM my email address if that's okay.
Still not sure, wheels will only be for on road use as have a set of BFG MUDs for off road.
Any further help would be great!
