Hi, I've recently bought a jimny but the engine has seen better days and isnt going to last much longer, I have found a g16b vitara engine with low mileage in a local scrap yard but it has a distributor on the back of the engine whereas the jimny engine runs coil packs, can you convert the g16b to run the jimny coil packs or is it easier to alter the wiring on the jimny and use the distributor already fitted to the g16b engine?
You do need to swap it to get it to run on the jimny managment means swapping the cam as the pick up is on the end of it and is a dizzy drive on the vitara.
G16 swap is not a nut and bolt plug and play job does all fit but takes some work to get it all done
