I have had the head off a 1997 1298 suzuki jimny, cam and all valves and springs out and eventually re-assembled. bottom of engine has not been rotated, but how do I know that I have the cam in the right position to check valve clearances on number one. The lobes on number one are pointing more or less straight up, and number 4 down. is this right for checking valves on number 1 cylinder
Was allways taught the rule of rocking really left over from the days of push rod engines hence the rocking and rockers but works the same for ohc 8v or 16v and Jim jam has rockers so you will see it clearly
What does rocking mean Ok you will see both inlet and exsaust moving at the same time
When Valves on cylinder 1 are Rocking Adjust - 4
When Valves on cylinder 4 are Rocking Adjust - 1
When Valves on cylinder 2 are Rocking Adjust - 3
When Valves on cylinder 3 are Rocking Adjust - 2
