hi, i am thinking about removing the spare wheel carrier from the rear door to save the door hinges. has anyone done this and what did you do about the holes ??

Hi mate I did this for a while but then decided to put it back on. All I did was screw the bolts back into the holes.

ahh ! are the holes captive or does the trim panel inside have to be taken off ?

No mate if you really feel the need to remove the wheel off the door then just unscrew all the bolts remove then carrier and then screw the bolts back into the holes in the door. easy 5 minute job.

the wheel's been off for a month . the bracket looks like it will impale someone :)
when i go off road the spare will be inside. cheers lads
