hey every one i have put a lobster box into my jimny from my sj but it has always made a wuring noise and is starting to get on my nerves also its a bit to low geared on the road so i am using alot of fuel what transfer is best i was thinking of putting a 410 or standard 413 box in as still need something low in 4l as got 31inch tires any ideas would be helpful thanks
For 31" tyres the rocklobster you have is what you need , i was recently told the standard mounts are quieter than the tru bolts that may be worth a look
The only reason a jimny box is quieter is because of the chain drive
Dont have my lobster yet but from what i have read and been told its not that they are noisy just noiser than a stock box due to them being gears not a chain
Im running 30" tyres on my stock box and its ok but does need to be lower geared in my opinion
My Rocklobster is quiet, i'm running 235/75/15 and find it fine. Top end is slow at 55mph max, but with cage, bumpers ect i'm happy with that, fuel consumption is not great.
