We had this on our first Jimny, we ended up loosing everything.
Check the dashboard plug that goes into the loom. ours had vibrated loose and there was a dodgy connection. 20 minutes at a Main dealer and they jimply plugged it back in and secured it with a cable tie. 3 years on, it was fine.
