Transmition back lash type symptom? was created by 247sniper
Do Jimny's suffer from this symptom? When you go from first gear into reverse or the other way round there appears to be a transmition clunk, only slight, as if it's the lash between gears. There is no play in prop or anything so it must be in the box or rear diff? I'll have to have another look when this shitty weather has improved some. It's not bad but noticeable to me. The car has 25500 miles on the clock and has had this clunk on it since I got the car 6 mth ago?
Just thought I'd ask if anyone has Come across this before I go scratching underneath again.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Slight clunk is normal, comes from play in the differential and the 2 gearboxes.

Every not-brand-new jimny is plenty of noises and screams ... clack ... bang ... fiiii ... oink ... better than a land rover, but worst than any regular car ...
