3 or 4.5 Inch ORA lift? was created by HiJim
G,day
I have just purchased a 1999 Jimny and i wanted to add a lift kit. Im interested in the ORA kits but not sure on the 3" or 4.5" lift kits. I was just wondering if anyone can shed some light on which is more suitable as i still need this car as a daily driver. I would like to go for the 4.5 inch lift kit but was wondering if i would need and extra parts that the kit dosent include such as steering dampener or panhead rods? Im in Australia by the way, and if anyone has an input on a better kit here in Aus would be greatly apprieciated

thanks in advance for any replies

cheers, mark

Hi Mark

The kit does include Panhard rods, a steering damper isn't mandatory but does make the steering much smoother.

All ORA parts are sold for off-road and competition use, but there is no reason why it won't still pass any MOT or vehicle checks after installation.

We usually recomend the 3" kit for vehicles covering more miles, but the 4.5 still does handle very well.

What size tyres are you looking to install?

thanks for the quick replies, and yes, im really happy with the postage costs, i was looking into some Martial arts gear ( a lot lighter than a lift kit) and the postage for it was something crazy around 80 pounds!

I was hoping to get some 31's under there, so the kit includes everything i need then? is there anything else i should be weary of? as this is the first 4x4 ive owned and therefore the first lift kit ive installed

cheers,
mark

Yep the kit includes everything you need. Installation is very straight forward, however we always recommend they be fitted by a profssional garage.

You would need the 4.5" kit to clear the 31" tyres OK... We recommend max 30" for the 3" kit.

Off the top of my head shipping would be around £125, but if yu would like a proper full quotation just drop an email for the attention of Hen to offroadarmory@gmail.com with your full name and address, and she will sort you out a quote right away.

Considering the size and weight of the package, the shippign sosts are very reasonable.
