So is that just for cars built after 2007 and/or adding bullbars to a pre 2007 car after 2007? I surpose if thats the case it comes down to proving when they where fitted. Bloody EU law, why carnt they just spell it out in plan english.

IMHO Bull-bars are a terrible idea! They mean that if you bend the bumper - it stoves in the whole front of the vehicle. Likewise, what might be limited damage to a corner is spread over a much larger area.

An A bar is OK - and I think still OK under the law as it's generally the ends of a bumper that get bent.

Metal light guards are similar - instead of breaking a cheap light, you bend an expensive wing.
