Hi all
Just pondering the idea of putting in a gear reduction. I see jimnybits now have a set which offers a 24% (?) reduction, the same as trialjimny gearset but cheaper.
. I sent an email to trialjimny saying that iam running 215/75/15 tyres and would these be ok with the new gears. He said yes but 235/75/15 would be the best set up. So what i want to know is, what is this setup like? Is it similar to a standard jimny in terms of performance, better mpg, etc? I am realy looking into it to improve road performance and my mpg. Any comments aprreciated, other suggestions.

:laugh: . I know. Since my first car, a Nissan Micra, i have only owned a 4x4 so iam used to mpg issues. The reason iam looking into it is because i have had the car from stock so i can clearly see the mpg drop since the mods. I dont realy mind this, i knew it would happen, but i am looking into ways of prehaps improving it. Does anyone think just changing to AT or even road tyres for daily driving would improve MPG? and leave the gearing. I got the muds so i allways have the option to try the particulary muddy bits!. The only thing with doing what iam suggesting is i will spend alot of money and the car will essentialy be the same. When i could have spent the money on a winch, snorkel, of even a diff lock!
