Black Wheels n' slightly wider tyres?? was created by damonal
Looking for advice; Will these tyres be okay on standard 5 spoke jimny rims? Will the extra 10mm affect lock, clearance, etc.?
www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/ts/search/tyredet...spx?code=2157015YK3S
Also, I have been looking in vain for some nice black alloys to replace standard wheels. I am now considering trecking round the local powder coating workshops to see if I can get my standard 5 spokes scrubbed, coated black and laquered like new. Any advice? How much should this cost roughly?
Any help would be gratefully received..

cannot comment on the fitment side, I went up to 6J to run my 215x80's
As for powder coating, I was quoted £50 per wheel when I had my Mondeo wheels refurbed. that was including tyre removal / refitment.
Probably cheaper for you to get a nice set of black modula's (new) if i were you .. refurbing the standard wheels isnt cost effective .. unless your using hammerite and a wire brush yourself !

If you shop around you can get a set of steels or alloys refurbed for under £100. As low as £80 if you have contacts.

Tyres will be ok on standard rims or will fit up to 7x15:) You will need to ring your local powder coater for a price it will not be cheap  It might be cheaper to rub the wheels down with wet+dry paper and spray with hammerite smooth satin black paint

Hope this helps you good luck.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I wirebrushed/scraped/sanded/shouted at my rusty wheels and then painted them with Aldi black smoothrite copy.
Worked ok, except I thought they made the car look very dirty and shabby overall. They didn't half show up the state of the hubs
So I got a set of clean silver ones off eBay, and they smarten it up a treat
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose....
I might get some winter tyres for the black ones.....

to have a set of 4 wheels blasted & powder coated should be around £100 inc removing & refitting tyres
