Jumping revs between approx 1800-4000rpm was created by freeduc
Hello!
This is my first post to the forum having had my Jimny for three days. Bought it for a good price as it is high milage (185000) + had a really strange error. It started just fine, sitting still in neutral, gradually increasing the revs, as soon as you passed ca. 1800rpm the revs starts to jump down while the engine lights comes on. I'm thinking ignition is switched off momentarily, that's the feeling at least. This effect continues up to around 4000rpm, where the engine runs just fine?!? Anyway, I tried cleaning out the MAPsensor + hose + the hole for the orange dampener (or whatever it is) and voilá! The engine runs as smooth as ever! I really recommend cleaning this out as the error was one of the things making the guy sell me the car... but it is not entirely spotless, more in a later post.

thanx for that post freeduc only had my jimny about 3 weeks and i have similar problem (mines done 110k).
Not massive problem but wondered what was causing it! I just assumed that cos it was an old car with high miles this was normal behaviour. i will definitely try your fix, especially seeing as its quite a cheap fix.

Indeed it is! I had to buy a package of old style pipe cleaners for 1 pound, that was it! //F
