Hi i've been listening to my engine lately and the tappets seem to be a little noisy between1500 and 3000rpm. A friend told me they might be adjustable? But i just wondered if anyone here has experienced this and what steps were taken to get it sounding a smoother running engine again. Any info would be much appreciated.

Yes they are adjustable, on the g13bb on earlier model they are anyway have had no experience of newer engines. Its just a case of removing the rocker cover inserting a feeler gauge between the cam and the tappet. Undoing the adjuster nut and turning the screw on the top to tighten and slacken. Steps and Specs are in the workshop manual.
Thats good to know thanks! Mine is the sohc version so yeah the earlier version. I've never removed the rocker cover before let alone adjusted tappets so this is gonna be a learning experience for me. Will definately read up on it 1st before i attempt it.
