Brakes Sticking was created by NewToJimny
I've got a problem with the brakes sticking on after heavy use. They will eventually come off when i'm not using the car for a bit. They seem to get pumped and then don't release. The brake pedal becomes more and more sensitive with less travel.
Both callipers and pads on the front are new. I've just come back from a run and both front wheels are stiff to turn round. I can't turn the hub by hand with the wheel off. Taking one of the wheels off and then taking the calliper off releases the stiffness and the hub turns freely.
Any help and advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Nick

Welcome fella
when the pads were changed did you lube up the sliders.

(bars in side the rubber flexy tubes)
This will make the brakes stick on.

The sliders are ok I can push them about with my fingers. I think they are new. They were fitted before I bought it, but they look new and I have a receipt saying new callipers were fitted. I've been reading the manual and thought the Master cylinder might need cleaning?

Would it be worth getting a second hand master cylinder and sticking that on to see if it fixed it? I see one on ebay for £30.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

As long as it isn't abs....
Go for a run and seize them up nicely, jack up a front wheel and crack the bleed nipple loose and nip it up again..
If a jet of fluid squirted out and the brakes are free look at the master cylinder/servo.
If nothing happens and they stay stuck more likely something seized in the calliper.

Try the test as Facade says.
if it looks like its the caliper end then also check that the rubbers have not expanded, jamming the sliders. This happens if the wrong grease is used to lube the sliders, I learnt this from experience.
