Gear stick vibration.? was created by Asbojimny
Seems worse on harder ground when off roadin'. Sometimes not noticeable at all.Selects gears no problem, but when climbing uneven hard ground the gear stick vibrates,a kinda rattle i guess.
Anyone got a clue what could cause this?
Cheers

Hi, I'm no expert but as no one has replied, thought I'd chip in - I had stick vibration (also steering column vibration) and a road car, that varied and it was down to a failed rear engine mounting - might be worth inspecting as it should be visually evident if there's an issue.

Might be worth checking the transfer box mounts
After a bit off ambitious offroading (following a v8 jeep) I had a bolt snap on mine  - the gearstick rattled and you could feel the vibration when you rested your hand on the gear stick

Cheers guys. Had a wee look this afternoon and transfer mounts seem ok. There is slight movement on the nearside engine mount,on the engine side so will have a better look during the week.

Hi everyone,
I'm sticking to this topic as my problem seems similar. Even when driving on good tarmac, the gear stick constantly vibrates. I will try to make a video showing the problem, but visually it's about 1 centimeter in amplitude from left to right. Vibration frequency seems to increase with speed.
Is this normal (i.e. "they all do that") or should I start investigating the transfer box and engine mounts?
Cheers!
