Hi all,

Im ringing round to get a quote for a new cat on my truck - i think mines on the way out, it seems to be loosing power if it revs above 3500 rpm and theres a blowing noise which starts once you reach that. Just spoke with one exhaust place and they say that theres two cats on the truck, one on the exhaust pipe and one up by the manifold - i thought there were two but they were on the same length of pipe :-/. Any one shed any light as to which is likely be the one thats gone

Thats what i thought!!!

The exhaust place quoted me £286 for the "one that runs under the floor" as they termed it - the one the suggested has likely to have gone, but the "one connected to the mainfold - £829   Everywhere else ive rung comes in around the 280 - 300 mark and haven't mentioned this "manifold cat". I was gonna attempt to fit it my self, but having read up on a recent post on here about engine revs dropping - which is the same as mine, and from what Kirkynut (i thinbk it was) said about busting the sensors off if your not careful, i thought id leave it to the pros - they bust em, they fix em.
