dipstick trouble?!!? was created by bigsofty
Hi

I have just bought a 2000 jimny which has a 2002(supposedly) engine in it. I didnt think to check the oil on it until i got home. When i checked it it says it has nearly max on one side of the dipstick but on the other it looks like it got about 2/3 times too much in it. Is this normal? is there something im missing?

There is a slight bend in the dipstick but i thought most older cars have nowadays. Is it worth buying a new one? Im a bit reluctant to drive it until i have found the problem and fixed it.

As you can probably tell i am new and have next to nothing when it comes to mechanical knowledge.

Thanks in advance for any help!
