they all laughed at me was created by clunkers
hi all new to all this so here go's
when i got my little jimny 3 months ago all my mates laughed at me called me mad:woohoo: :woohoo: but a few weeks ago when the snow arived in our little village i was 1 of about 6 4x4's driving about our village with the exeption of a few quad's.
i then spent the next 4 day's carting about my mates, fetching shopping for half the village, jump starting the other half and spending a fortune on fuel.
but the fun factor was fantastic.
I only got stuck once in a car park on a bit of a hill from a standing start but just reversed out anyway.
i also towed 2 mercedes sprinters out of a factory up a snow covered hill with a few people watching i only wish i had recorded the whole thing for youtube great laugh,
i also found out the other day i had been driving with one break calliper jammed on since iv had the truck but as i didnt know any different i just thought it was a bit rough, anyway with a little help from my friends im in the prosess of fixing it.
the upshot is what a great little 4x4 huge amounts of fun and really looking foward to getting it off road in some mud.

A mate of mine has recently bought a cherokee - he's had a few sj's and a jimny, but when his king pins went on the jimny he decided to get rid of it and stick with cars. After 2 years with various cars and a lifted fourtrak, he decided to buy another truck and bought his cherokee. When we went out for pre xmas drinks we got talking about trucks as you do, comparing details etc, and he although he scoffs at mine, he openly admitted he wished he'd keep his jinmny. He said the only reason he bought the jeep was because he can run it on veggie oil else he would have got another jimny.

I'm used to getting laughed at, but when others get stuck and have to ask you for a tow, it depends on how much they've laughed as to if i tow them out!!!

When the front wheel bearing fails on his jeep he will wish he stuck with changing the kingpins on his Jimny.
A couple of guys in our club have a cherokee and the front wheel bearing failed. They were told that you cannot change the bearing, you have to replace the whole hub. They didn't believe this, thinking it was dealer "hype". After a long time trying and a lot of cursing they realised you cannot change the bearing, you have to re-mortgage your house and get a new hub.
