I thought It was a bit stupid due to the top speed on a jimny being about 75mph, I rarely travel at 60, I usually plod along at 50 every where!
Has anyone else had this problem? Or know of away to over come it?

You might have to try somewhere else, specialist modified companies usually prvide a great deal and let you add any bits on whenever you like. Im through brentacre and they have always been great for modifications, just ring up when i add something else but they dont charge an admin fee for adjusting either.
Have you got long left on your current policy?
Think i pay about £400 for 28 yr old as main car with 12k per year with any mods, seems like a pretty expensive little truck really lol compared to some cars ive had, think an un-modified quote was coming in around 350 ish anyway.

I'm with Flux at the moment but not happy.
2nd car full comp etc with mods (lift) came to £297! That's for a Jimny.
My Merc with 234 bhp full comp etc etc is only £245.
Give them a try.

Mine definantely goes faster than that!! It gets a bit hairy passing wagons on the motorway at 85/ 90  Foreign motorways of course
I rang adrian flux the other day - see my recent post on insurance - they havent got a problem about mods, however it was cheaper for me to stick with Endsleigh who i've always been with. I did ask about modifications and the girl said to ring back with more details, but for things like suspension changes etc i shouldnt cost more - anything major they would need more details - i'm guessing if it was bobtailed/ tray backed

Yeah I had exactly the same problem and had to go with Adrian flux so that I could declare the lift. Ended up costing £770 for 5k miles, all mods declared for a 22year old with 5 years ncb. I'm gonna have to increase it to unlimited mileage which is another £350. I hate insurance companies!

I'm not paying nearly £300 for a little toy again.
I haven't done 500 miles in it yet from October when I got it. I don't do more than 6000 miles in both car's, total, in twelve months.
Adrian Flux aka Dick Turpin.
