Standard (ish) or bits left on? was created by me101
Quick question people. Decided I'm finally going to sell the Jimny after it's mot / oil change in October. Owned for 9 years, but need something that bit bigger. My question is, do I take off the roof rack / ladder, put the original seats back in (currently only 2 aftermarket seats with camping set up in back) and sell them separate, or will I actually get the few hundred pound extra leaving them in the car? Will still have the lift / tyres / winch / snorkel as not going to strip them off for no good reason. Also, running a 2nd battery, would that put people off?
Cheers

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

You won't get any more for the car with accessories fitted.
Best to put the standard seats back, remove the rack & ladder and sell them separate.
You can even offer them to the buyer after you have shaken hands on the price (if you do it before, they will want them included for free).
As it has a winch most buyers would expect a second battery anyway.

I'd be interested in buying the rack and awning if they would fit a pre facelift 2012?

Facade - I thought as much, just double checking, cheers
Jimnythesaint - the rack will fit any Gen3. When I sell the car, if the new owner doesn't want to buy them I'll be putting them on here, cheers.

For some cars the extras can make a sell go faster and easier but a good Jimny sells itself doesn't it?
But time and work to dismantle stuff when you might allready got the new car coming?
Here the extras is plentyful still with tyres and lift anyways.

Don't have a car to replace yet (not my daily so no rush), still working out what to replace it with. The rack and ladder are less than a year old, so don't want to give them away. No one wants to buy standard seats, and I don't want to throw them out, so feel better putting back in the car.
